Thure Wahlström, Flea Market


This vibrant mid-century oil painting by Swedish artist Thure Wahlstrom (1908-1998) depicts a colourful flea market. A hive of activity with a clever zigzag design to add interest.

Wahlström studied at Otte Sköld’s school and later Isaac Grünewald’s. This is a relatively early example of his work. He’s represented at the Hälsingland Museum in Hudiksvall.

Signed, dated and framed.
