This lively 20th-century oil on canvas by Swedish artist Ake Wickstrom (b.1927) depicts a group of couples dancing outdoors. Oh to be there, throwing caution to the wind and waltzing away on the grass.
Wickstrom rarely takes himself too seriously and his works are awash with fun and vivacity. Perhaps he knew these colourful characters and maybe even took part.
